
Hikers Rescued By TSAR After Being Stranded on Wheeler Peak
Last Saturday, the Taos Search and Rescue team rescued two hikers after they got stranded on the summit of Wheeler Peak.
As they raced towards Wheeler Peak, VanneBrightyn monitored their location using live mapping software, reporting their progress to police. Read more here
This is a reminder to everyone to always have a plan if you are traveling to the snowy mountains. Make sure you wear appropriate, warm clothing, including a winter coat and snow shoes, and pack an essential bag in case you get lost. More importantly, check the weather to see if the conditions are good, if the weather calls for severe weather, stay indoors. Thank you to the TSAR team and other volunteers for the dedicated work in rescuing the two hikers. We hope they are doing well and as always, please be safe out there!
