EDSAR Rescues Abandoned Splitboarder Near Warr Trail

The El Dorado SAR team and other volunteers rescued a split boarder near Warr Trail after their friend left them and the split boarder had to find their way out, only for them to call for help due to unpreparedness.

A ski rescue team of two left Christmas Valley around 7:30pm and skinned up the Warr Trail to reach the subject. Eldorado Sheriff rescue helicopter, Echo 1, assisted by confirming the subject’s location during a flyover. Read more here

Great work to all the SAR teams for rescuing the individual. This is a reminder always to be prepared for the uncertainty if you are adventuring outdoors by making sure you pack a warm blanket, a flashlight, plenty of water, and other important survival essentials. More importantly, if you are traveling with a friend, do not, and I repeat, do not leave your friend behind, always stick together and map out a plan of your destinations from start to finish.
