Douglas County SAR Rescues ATV Riders Thanks to iPhone SOS Feature
The Douglas County Search and Rescue team rescued two ATV riders in the Rainbow Falls area after the two became stranded and alerted for help via the SOS feature on the iPhone despite having no internet connection.
The satellite SOS feature comes standard on iPhone 14, 14 Pro, 15, and 15 Pro devices, allowing users to text emergency services for help when they're out of cell phone range. Read more here
Great work to the Douglas County SAR team for rescuing the ATV riders. Using the SOS feature on the iPhone has been handy for others who are stranded in a secluded area and don't have access to cellular data. I commend the ATV riders for using the SOS feature to alert SAR teams via an emergency text since they didn't have an internet connection then. Please be safe out there!
