
American Hiker Rescued in Guatemala After Getting Stranded
A hiker from Atlanta, GA was rescued last month in Guatemala after he and a friend went hiking but got separated where the man was found stranded at a volcano for a few days, from there he used all his survival skills to stay alive while SAR teams were looking for him.
He slept in caves and relied on rainwater to stay alive. He also found a dog, which he said helped guide him back to civilization. Read more here
After reading this article, hearing this man's story was tremendously helpful in preparing others for when they get lost. I'm glad he was found safe while using his survival skills to stay alive as SAR teams were on their way to rescue him. I want commend him for packing an emergency kit in case he gets lost and it might take a long time for SAR teams to look for him. In other words, we're glad to hear the man's story and that he's okay and as always, please be safe out there!
